Austin is the capital city of Texas. Population-wise it is the 14th, and area-wise it is the 4th. This American Southwest city is in central Texas and it is the third-fastest-growing large city till recently. About 8 hundred thousand people live here. Life was great for my friend. Or so she believed.
Then one day a boy she was dating who was a preacher’s son told her he couldn’t see her anymore. He did not give a reason. Later she heard that he was embarrassed at all the attention his girlfriend was getting from other boys. She was devastated. She didn’t know what to do. She tried everything she could to get back with him, to no avail.
One day, she happened to be walking along the pond near the school when she spotted him. He was not alone. He was holding hands with another girl. The girl was someone she knew. The two of them did not see my friend as she watched her now ex-boyfriend happily walking hand in hand with this girl. She must have watched them for at least one hour. He was talking animatedly with the girl. She smiled lovingly at him as she talked with him.
At first my friend laughed to herself. ‘This won’t last long’, she said to herself. ‘He’ll be back to me in no time, and he won’t be able to keep his hands off me’.
As she thought these words, a thought struck her.
That was all she had known in her interaction with men. She was only good for being felt up. Tears welled up in her eyes. All of a sudden, she could see her future. It did not look so rosy anymore.
So my friend resolved to get herself a breast reduction in Austin. Her friend’s mother had a clinic there and through her she learnt abut the advantages of having such a surgery. Moreover, the kind surgeon has agreed to do it, waiving her own fees as a concession for her, as far as the costs are concerned. It was the best thing she ever did in her life. She resolved to cover up in public. She dressed modestly and acted with more dignity.
Then a funny thing started happening. The very same boys who had once only hounded her for her endowments were now pursuing her for a different reason. They all wanted to date her! And they showed her respect!
